My main comparison reference is a 2 Michelin Star restaurant in Belgium and a few 1 Michelin star restaurants as well in Belgium. The food quality here was good, staff was really friendly and the scenery was impressive. Things I experienced as inferior for a 3 star restaurant are following : we had a reservation at 7:45PM, at 9PM we had already eaten 5 courses. Dinner was being brought way to fast, the plate of my wife was being taken away while I was still eating. At the table next to us, 4 German people complained about the speed as well and then it became more relax. Eating in your restaurant should be a full evening experience, not a race. I would recommend to print a small menu card and keep it on the tabel so customers can follow where they are on the menu and what dishes will stil come. Same with the wine. Another frustration : I did not want to take the wine arrangement because of the high price. SO as we selected wine by the glass, the waiter proposed me to take an arrangement of 5 small glasses, so in total only 2,5 glass, he literally said it like that. I thought it was some sort of arrangement in between for people who still have to drive their car. I was surprised to see that afterwards, these 2,5 glasses represented the wine arrangement of 160€, if I wanted that, I would have ordered it. So was the food good? Absolutely, it was delicious. Would I recommend the restaurant? No, I have eaten several times in The Jane in Antwerp and my estimation of the total experience by the personnel, the price quality of the wine arrangement etc is higher there.
